In 1945 Carmine Tattaglia is forced to pay money to the Corleones.A nightclub owned by the Tattaglia family, the Tunnel Club was operated by Carmine Tattaglia. It was situated in Hell's Kitchen, near to the Lincoln Tunnel, which the family made use of if attacks were launched.
After the murder of Sonny Corleone by Tattaglia thugs, the perpetrators were tracked to this nightclub and revealed that the Tattaglia's had been funded by Don Barzini.In 1945, the club changed hands, falling under the Corleone family's influence.

Little is known about what goes on behind its closed doors, but it's rumored that Family summits are held here from time to time. Nearby is the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, an easy escape if rival Families attempt to launch an attack.
