Staten Island is a borough in the southwestern part of New York City. Staten Island is separated from New Jersey by the Arthur Kill and the Kill van Kull straits, and from the rest of New York by New York Bay. The Barzini family controlled Staten Island, but Victor Stracci was also residing there. Staten Island also witnessed the death of Salvatore Tessio, who was brought there to an abandoned gas station where he was executed by Nick Geraci.
Incidentally, Geraci himself died here after arranging to resign Michael Corleone from the Commission, he was turned in by Frank Greco and Don Stracci. Geraci was killed by Eddie Paradise, and his body was found on a boat not far from the shore.
