Robert Evans (born Robert J. Shapera; June 29, 1930 – October 26, 2019) was an American film producer and studio executive best known for his work on Rosemary's Baby, Love Story, The Godfather and Chinatown.


Robert Evans started off as an actor and eventually became a film producer. Charles Bluhdorn, head of the Gulf+Western, made Evans vice president of Paramount Pictures and as Head of Production, he oversaw the production of The Godfather.

During this time he made Paramount the most successful studio in Hollywood and transformed it into a very profitable enterprise for Gulf+Western. He later became an independent film producer.
