Don Piddu was the Mafia chieftain of Caltanissetta, a town and province in Sicily. He was considered to be one of the leading Mafia bosses in Sicily in the 1940s.
He was killed by Salvatore Giuliano and his band on the estate of Prince Borsa.

He was known to be susceptible to flattery and was vain of his appearance.
