New York City is a highly populated city located in the state of New York in the United States. It is world renouned for it's many beautiful and famous landmarks such as The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty and The Brooklyn Bridge.
It is made up of five boroughs; Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Long Island. All of which have heavy Italian and Mafia influences.
New York is also situated with five dominant Cosa Nostra or Mafia families:
- Gambino

- Bonanno
- Lucchese
- Colombo
These can be compared with the five Cosa Nostra families of the Godfather world:

In the Godfather
New York is the city where Vito Corleone settled and began his businesses as a mafioso, beginning in the district of Hell's Kitchen and later moving to Little Italy and Long Beach. Vito helped form the Five Families following the Pacification of New York. Under the tenure of his son Michael, the family moved to Nevada, but Peter Clemenza, a former caporegime in the family, was allowed to remain as boss of his own family, along with Aldo Trapani, the Don of New York, who had assisted Michael's rise to power.
