Maria Giuliano, née Lombardo, was the mother of legendary bandit Salvatore Giuliano.

Born in Sicily, she married Salvatore Giuliano, Sr. and they had several children, the fourth of whom was Salvatore Jr.

When her son had became a legend, she was proud but worried of for his safety, and met with Michael Corleone, who was arranging his transfer over to the United States. As a parting gift she gave Michael a statue of the Virgin Mary.
