Lee Strasberg was an actor and founder of the Actors Studio.

Biography[]

In 1931, he became one of the co-founders of the Group Theatre, which he left in 1935 due to his views on acting, which differed from those of his peers.

Instead, he formed the Actors Studio, where he taught such actors as Eli Wallach, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

The Godfather Part II was one of the few times he acted before the camera, however, this role won him an Academy Award nomination.
