Harry Dean Stanton (July 14, 1926 – September 15, 2017) was an American actor and musician with a wide and varied career spanned over 60 years. He appeared in many iconic films including Cool Hand Luke, The Godfather Part II and Alien before his breakout role as the protagonist of Paris, Texas. He has more recently branched out in television with a recurring role in Big Love.

On September 15, 2017, Stanton passed away in Los Angeles, California at age 91.
