Frank Romano was the boss of the Falcone crime family.

Former Underboss of the Falcone family, Romano succeeded Ignazio Pignatelli in 1963 after he stepped down for health reasons.

In 1979, he was one of the dons who attended the Commission meeting in Atlantic City. During the meeting, he was machine gunned to death by Joey Zasa's assassins in a helicopter, along with many other Dons.

Behind the scenes

The screenplay of The Godfather Part III states that Frank Romano was a Mafia chief from the West Coast, indicating he was a boss from Los Angeles. He was portrayed by Don Costello, who also played Victor Stracci in The Godfather.
