Frank Corleone was the third child and first son of Sonny Corleone and Sandra Corleone. He was the brother of Kathy Corleone, Santino Corleone, Jr. and Francesca Corleone, and the half brother of Vincent Mancini. He was called Frankie by his family, presumably to distinguish him from his cousin Frank Hagen.[1]

Biography[]

Don Vito and Frank Corleone

Vito and Frank at Connie's wedding.

Frank was born in 1940, and was Sonny and Sandra's first son. He was present at the wedding of his aunt Connie to Carlo Rizzi, and later presented a card to his grandfather, Vito Corleone, after Vito returned home from the hospital.[2]

He attended University of Notre Dame, where he was a linebacker on the football team. His family were proud and attended his games. His nickname was "Frankie the Hit Man". Frankie attended his cousin Anthony's confirmation party, and was present with his family when Francesca asked for michael's blessing to marry Gardner Shaw. After that, michael asked frank how his football career was going, and he said it was going really good.

He was forced to retire early from football after an injury. By the early 1960s, he had moved to Florida.[1]

As with most of third-generation Corleones, Frank never became involved in the family business.

Trivia[]
