Title(s) President

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz (August 13, 1926 – November 25, 2016), commonly known as Fidel Castro, was a socialist leader of Cuba from 1959 to 2008.

Castro attended the Havana University and went into politics after his graduation, becoming a noticed political figure. He openly opposed Fulgencio Batista's regime, and because of Batista's repression and Mafia ties, Castro declared the revolution to force Batista out of the presidential office. Castro's socialist government control of Cuba after Batista's resignation meant Hyman Roth's plans for Cuba failed, as his friendship with the old regime was the key to do business there.

Castro survived various assassination attempts (which were orchestrated by the CIA and anti-Castro movements) and continued to rule Cuba until 2008, when he resigned on grounds of failing health. Castro's younger brother, Raúl, was appointed as president. Castro passed away in November 2016, aged 90.

In the video gameEdit

In the video game The Godfather II, Roth set up connections with Castro through Esteban Almeida, preparing for any eventuality. Roth was playing both sides however, as he also had connections with American crime families and the CIA.

Assassination attemptEdit

Dominic Corleone made acquaintance with agent CIA Henry Mitchell through Roth and performed a hit for him on Castro. He managed to hit the Cuban Almeida crime family, which continued to support him after his botched hit by attempting to take out the Corleone family.
