Bonasera's was a funeral parlour owned by Amerigo Bonasera. It was located in Little Italy, New York City.
History[]
The funeral parlour was established by the Italian immigrant Amerigo Bonasera, who named it after himself. After his daughter Maria was beaten up and the perpetrators were allowed to walk free, he asked for the assistance of Vito Corleone in gaining vengeance. All Vito asked in return was that Bonasera pledge his loyalty and friendship to him.
Vito eventually called for his favour to be returned; after the death of his eldest son Sonny, he asked Bonasera to use his embalming powers to restore the young man's bullet smashed face so he may have an open coffin at the funeral, and so his wife wouldn't have to see Sonny's face torn and ruined.
In the video game[]
In The Godfather: The Game, the funeral parlour can be found in Little Italy, right next to Old St. Pat's cathedral. The mission "A Grave Situation" takes place near it.
Amerigo himself can be found in the parlour when the mission is not active, while a badly beaten up Maria briefly appears during a cutscene of the mission.
The funeral parlour is owned by both Amerigo and Maria and pays protection money to the Corleones. It is also used by them to have their dead members embalmed or buried in the graveyard of Old St. Pat's.
