Bernie Ryngpease was the owner of The Highway Hotel in New Jersey.
Biography[]
A jolly man who was also on close personal terms with William Stracci, Ryngpease was known for charging extortionate prices for rooms in his hotel, as they were notoriously hard to come by in Jersey. He was in cahoots with crooked cardshark Al Bellagio, who ran a craps game on the top floor.
In 1948, Ryngpease had his business taken over by the Corleone family, particularly Aldo Trapani and his hired goon.
