Alfredo "Al" Lettieri (February 24, 1928 – October 18, 1975) was an Italian-American actor. He portrayed Virgil Sollozzo in The Godfather.
Biography
Born in 1928, Lettieri was known to be acquainted to real gangsters, such as Joey Gallo. He was famous for his villainous roles, including Virgil Sollozzo, Rudy from The Getaway and Santiago in McQ.
Lettieri died of a heart attack in 1975, at the age of 47, leaving behind his wife and two children. He continued acting up until his death.
